Antonio Brown’s newest workout partner? A 17-year-old high school quarterback

No matter how much your uncle claims to have been one injury from a NFL career, playing professional football isn’t easy.

The physicality aside, it’s the mental part of the game that often separates players. Being able to read coverages requires a whole lot of studying and just sheer experience. And while a high school diploma doesn’t always equate to intelligence both on and off the field, it also isn’t even a prerequisite to work out with Antonio Brown.

That’s because the man, or more accurately teenager, firing passes to Brown is a 17-year-old high school quarterback named Pete Zamora. He might not be able to vote, but his age doesn’t preclude him from having a cannon for an arm.

When it comes to Brown though, Zamora offered a glowing endorsement..

“He hasn’t lost any gears. He’s still fast as ever and he’s still a top receiver in the league,” Zamora told TMZ Sports. “I feel like a team should definitely sign him.”

A rising junior at Deerfield Beach, Zamora says he stumbled upon Brown who, along with Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson and Denver Broncos rookie receiver Jerry Jeudy, was working out at Fort Lauderdale Westminster Academy’s field a couple months ago. Brown was so impressed that he invited Zamora to 84/7 Fitness where the 17-year-old began training until one day, he got called up to the big leagues, TMZ reported.

You’re probably thinking there’s no way a 17-year-old could deal with a man who has a history of agitating coaches and teammates alike. According to Zamora, Brown’s rep might be a little embellished.

“He’s very professional,” Zamora said. “He just wants to get work done. He’s very precision-based.”

These workouts are all part of Brown’s comeback attempt. The embattled receiver made headlines Tuesday when Mike Silver reported that the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers were interested in him. He will likely have to serve a suspension for a slew of off-the-field incidents, most notably accusations of sexual misconduct, that the NFL began investigating more than half a year ago.

At least one of Brown’s off-field legal issues seem to be trending in the right direction. He recently accepted a plea deal for a January altercation with a moving truck driver.
