No handshake, no problem — Jerry Jeudy celebrates draft by dancing with Roger Goodell

No NFL prospect has more pull than Jerry Jeudy.

The former Alabama receiver could have been like the 31 other picks who seemed content on not getting the customary handshake from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell after he calls their name. But Jeudy wasn’t going to let a little pandemic stop him from celebrating and opted for the next best thing: a TikTok.

Jeudy somehow got the 61-year-old Goodell to hit the “Toosie Slide,” a viral dance trend set to Drake’s hit of the same name.

Hey Jerry, can’t believe I’m doing this but you asked... welcome to the league! ##goingpro ##nfldraft ##duet with @jeudyjerry

The South Florida native asked Goodell to join him in an earlier video posted before the draft. Shortly after the Denver Broncos picked him No. 15 overall, the duet popped up on the NFL’s account with the caption “can’t believe I’m doing this.”

It’s unclear how many reshoots Goodell did but judging by the way he’s mouthing the steps, you could guess quite a lot.

Not many 21-year-olds could or even would think of asking for something like this. CeeDee Lamb’s quick hands might have stolen the show but Jeudy’s creativity deserved an award.
