Assistant high school football coach dies in hit-and-run crash while standing on I-95

A Cypress Bay assistant football coach died Sunday morning in a hit-and-run while he was standing in the road on Interstate 95 in Broward.

Carlo Ullysse Jr., of North Lauderdale, died after a car struck him while he was standing on the paved outside lane on northbound I-95 near the Commercial Boulevard exit at 6:18 a.m. Sunday, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. He was 27.

FHP has no information on the make, model or color of the vehicle. And it is unclear why Ullysse was standing in the road. The crash is still being investigated, according to the report.

Anyone with information about the crash should call the Florida Highway Patrol at *347.
