The Cardinal Gibbons wrestling team, led by Nino Sannasardo’s upset of Somerset’s 2014 Class 1A state champion Raekwon Reggler in the 182-pound class and freshman Erich Byelick’s (54-0) victory at 145 pounds, won the Region 4-1A title.


Valeria Mantilla, Monarch, girls’ tennis: Mantilla won at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles to lead the Knights over Pompano Beach 6-1.

Joel Lacy and Storm Sims, Calvary Christian, boys’ track: Lacy won the 1,600 and Sims won the discus to lead the Eagles to the Pine Crest Panthers Relays title.

Claire Blount, Pines Charter, softball: Blount (10-0) went 2 for 3 with a RBI and picked up the 2-0 victory over Cooper City in the Speedball Tournament championship game.

Grant Aronoff, St. Thomas Aquinas, wrestling: The freshman won at 138 pounds to lead five individual Raiders champions at the Region 3-3A final.

Tyler Sage, Cypress Bay, wrestling: Sage won the 138-pound class at the Region 4-3A final.

Chase Reyes, American Heritage, baseball: Reyes went 4 for 5 with a RBI and two runs to lead the Patriots over Douglas 11-5.

Reynaldo Golindano, Somerset, boys’ tennis: Golindano won at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles to lead Somerset over Archbishop McCarthy 5-2.

Hayley Hill, Fort Lauderdale, girls’ water polo: Hill had two goals to lead the Flying L's (11-1) over St. Thomas Aquinas 6-4.

Phillip Lee and Lenny Laguerre, Boyd Anderson, boys’ track: Victories from Lee (high jump) and Laguerre (triple jump) sparked the Cobras’ boys team to the Hallandale Invitational title.

Gillian Morrison, Douglas, girls’ track: Morrison won the triple jump, 300 hurdles and tied for first in the high jump to lead the Eagles to the Pine Crest Panthers Relays title.
