Andrew Heller won at No. 1 singles and at No. 1 doubles to lead the Cypress Bay boys’ tennis team to the District 14-4A title.


Sydney Bates, Western, softball: Bates had the game-winning RBI to lead the Wildcats over Coral Springs Charter 3-0.

Daniel Gale, Pine Crest, boys’ tennis: The freshman standout won at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles (by default) to lead the Panthers to the District 15-2A title.

Brooke Newman, Taravella, flag football: Newman threw an eight yard touchdown pass to Aisha Ferdinand for the winning score as the Trojans edged Plantation 7-2.

Nina Hernandez, Sagemont, girls’ tennis: Hernandez won at No. 2 singles to lead the Lions to the District 14-1A title.

Shaun Shivers, Chaminade, boys’ track: The sophomore standout clocked a personal-best and Florida No. 2 10.47 in the 100 meters to finish second at the Florida Relays.

Samuel Guillorme, University School, baseball: Guillorme went 2 for 4, highlighted by a walk off single to lead the Sharks over Slam Academy 10-9.

Hayley Hill, Fort Lauderdale, girls’ water polo: Hill had five goals to lead the Flying L’s over Nova 16-9.

Luiz Padredi, Monarch, boys’ volleyball: Padredi had 11 points, eight kills and six aces to lead the Knights over Coral Springs in three sets.
