St. Brendan’s Carlos Clavijo sets mark with 110 goals

Carlos Clavijo has finished the season with 110 goals, marking a Florida single season record. Clavijo scored five of them in his last game of the season with St. Brendan in losing effort against Palmetto Ridge in Naples, Friday afternoon.

BASEBALL

Doral Academy’s CJ Calero hit a walk-off homerun to seal a 3-2 victory over Brito Miami Private.

Jorge Perez (4-2) pitched six innings giving up one hit and struck out ten batters to earn the win for the Firebirds (15-7). Victor Cabrera picked up the save. Luis Valbuena had two hits, and scored one run.

Brito’s (11-6) Robert Hernandez hit a homerun and had two RBI in losing effort.
