Andres Rodriguez of the Westminster Christian boys’ lacrosse team is the Miami Herald Athlete of the Week for Week 29.

The junior scored a game-high 2 goals and added 2 assists and 5 ground balls as the Warriors won their second consecutive boys’ district title by beating Ransom Everglades 7-4. With that effort, he moved into second in the district in total points.

Other nominees were: Elijah Ponce, Ransom Everglades lacrosse; Euclides Alvarez, Southwest baseball; Evan Alexander, True North baseball; Charlie Friguls, Columbus boys’ volleyball; Sophia Kingston, Gulliver Prep water polo; Dylan De Schryver, American Heritage-Plantation boys’ volleyball; Faith Key, Miami Northwestern flag football.
