Miami Herald High School Athlete of the Week 22: Miami Pace cheerleader Kanieya Drayton

Kanieya Drayton of the Miami Pace competitive cheerleading team is the Miami Herald Athlete of the Week for Week 22.

The senior captain helped lead the Spartans to a national title and a world title at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, near Orlando.

Other nominees were: Willow White, South Dade wrestling; Latoya Sylvestre, South Broward wrestling; Emma Esparza, Palmer Trinity basketball; Jovani Solis, South Dade wrestling; Peter Mocco, Cardinal Gibbons wrestling; Hailey Sarmiento, West Broward cheerleading; Fernando Grande, Divine Savior basketball; Jaelynn Housey, Nova basketball; Clarence Westbrook Jr., St. Thomas Aquinas basketball.
