This week, we continue a feature where we ask you to vote for the best high school varsity performer of the week (in Broward and Miami-Dade counties).

This week includes nominees from high school basketball, cheerleading and wrestling.

Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Feb. 19 at around 10 p.m. You may vote as often as you like until then.

Kanieya Drayton, Pace cheerleading: the senior captain helped lead the Spartans to a national title and a world title at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, near Orlando.

Emma Esparza, Palmer Trinity basketball: the junior scored 19 points to eclipse the 1,000-point career mark as the Falcons won a district title over Mater Bay.

Fernando Grande, Divine Savior basketball: the senior scored 22 points with 10 rebounds and 3 steals as the Sharks, ranked second, edged top seed Miami Country Day 69-63 for the district title.

Jaelynn Housey, Nova basketball: the senior guard scored a game-high 22 points and was named Marcia Pinder Game MVP as the Titans beat St. Thomas Aquinas, the No.1 team in 6A, 56-52, to win the BCAA Big 8 Girls’ Championship in Fort Lauderdale.

Peter Mocco, Cardinal Gibbons wrestling: the sophomore at 215 pounds improved to 45-0 by winning his second consecutive BCAA title to clinch the BCAA team title for the Chiefs.

Hailey Sarmiento, West Broward cheerleading: the senior led the Bobcats to their second national title at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando.

Jovani Solis, South Dade wrestling: the sophomore went undefeated at 144 pounds to win another GMAC title and help lead the Buccaneers boys’ team to another GMAC team title.

Latoya Sylvestre, South Broward wrestling: the senior (23-2) went undefeated at 190 pounds to win her third BCAA title while leading the Bulldogs to the BCAA team title.

Clarence Westbrook Jr., St. Thomas Aquinas basketball: the junior guard had 22 points, including 14 in the second half, with 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 blocked shot, and 1 rebound en route to the Butch Ingram Trophy as the game’s MVP in the Raiders’ 68-60 victory over Miramar to win the BCAA Big 8 Boys’ Championship in Fort Lauderdale.

Willow White, South Dade wrestling: the senior went undefeated at 130 pounds to win another GMAC title and help lead the Buccaneers girls’ team to another GMAC team title.
