Jabari Brady, a wide receiver from Monarch High School in Coconut Creek and a University of Missouri football commit, recently raised funds and traveled to Jamaica to support communities impacted by Hurricane Melissa.
Through a GoFundMe effort along with support from his sports marketing, management, and talent agency, NETWORK, Brady helped provide food, clean water, clothing, toiletries, and school supplies to more than 130 families affected by the storm.
Brady, a North Lauderdale resident, grew up in Jamaica until age 9, before moving to the United States with his mother, Nadine. Returning to give back has remained an important part of their lives. This year’s trip was in response to the devastation caused by the hurricane, with Brady and his mother personally delivering supplies to families in need.
Recently, Brady was recognized with the South Florida Athletics Humanitarian Award for his work in Jamaica and his broader impact within his community throughout high school.
