This week, we continue a feature where we ask you to vote for the best high school varsity performer of the week (in Broward and Miami-Dade counties).

This week includes nominees from high school cross-country, football and golf.

Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Dec. 11 at around 10 p.m. You may vote as often as you like until then.

Aiden Butler, Miami Palmetto football: the junior running back ran for 220 yards and 4 touchdowns on 16 carries in a 65-41 win over Goleman for a 7A region title. The Panthers (11-2) advanced to a state semifinal.

Derrek Cooper, Chaminade-Madonna football: the senior running back ran for 245 yards and 1 TD on 32 carries as the Lions secured a convincing 35-14 victory over True North for a 1A region title. Chaminade (10-2) advanced to a state semifinal.

Donte Findeson, Cardinal Gibbons football: the junior running back ran for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns on 10 carries as the Chiefs beat previously unbeaten LaSalle 20-17 for a 4A region title. The Chiefs (10-3) advanced to a state semifinal.

John Gray, North Miami Beach football: the junior running back ran for 162 yards and 1 touchdown on 22 carries to lead the Chargers (6-6) over Booker T. Washington 20-6 to advance to the inaugural classes 3A-1A championship game.

Neiman Lawrence, Miami Northwestern football: the sophomore quarterback threw 7 touchdown passes to lead the Bulls to a convincing 50-29 victory over rival Miami Central for a 3A region title. He completed 21 of 28 passes for 406 yards as Northwestern (12-0) advanced to a state semifinal.

Mason Mallory, St. Thomas Aquinas football: the senior quarterback threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more as the Raiders beat McArthur 34-7 for a 5A region title. St. Thomas Aquinas (12-1) advanced to a state semifinal.

Marcelo Mantecon, Belen Jesuit cross-country: the sophomore ran 15 minutes 3.3 seconds to secure his second consecutive individual state championship, while leading the Wolverines to their state leading 17th state title at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

Brandin Mincy, West Broward football: the senior quarterback completed 12-of-21 passes for 198 yards and 1 touchdown and scored the winner on a QB sneak late in the game as the Bobcats (11-2) stunned top-seeded Southridge 30-27 for a 6A region title. West Broward advanced to a state semifinal.

TJ Mullen, Plantation American Heritage football: the sophomore, who started the season as a defensive back, became the featured back in the second half (including a 31-yard run, a 26-yard run and a 9-yard TD run) to key the Patriots upset win over Archbishop McCarthy 25-20 for a 4A region title. American Heritage (7-5) advanced to a state semifinal.

Sohan Patel, Plantation American Heritage golf: the junior won the individual state title for the second consecutive season. He finished the 2-day competition with an impressive 5-under par 139 for the third place Patriots.
