The South Florida high school football playoff matchups are set. Here’s a look
The high school football playoff brackets have been revealed.
A total of 45 teams combined from Miami-Dade and Broward Counties qualified for the one of the seven classifications, earning their chances to vie for state championships.
As it was last season, the FHSAA state finals will be held at South Dade Kia Field at Pitbull Stadium on December 10-13. The times for each final have yet to be finalized.
Four defending state champions - Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, Plantation American Heritage, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna and Miami Northwestern - are looking to repeat.
Other top contenders include Miami Central, Miami Palmetto, Miami Southridge, Fort Lauderdale Archbishop McCarthy and Pembroke Pines West Broward.
Here’s a look at the seeds in each region and the first-round playoff matchups set for next week beginning Thursday.
