Yasmin Dias Tonon of the North Broward Prep girls’ volleyball team is the Miami Herald Athlete of the Week for Week 10.

The senior outside hitter led the Eagles with 13 kills, 5 aces, 4 digs, 1 assist and 15 serve receive as they beat Mater Lakes Academy 25-19, 25-19, 25-14 in the Region 4-4A championship to reach the state semifinal.

Other nominees were: Maximillian Hazleton, Pine Crest football; Micaela Velez, Doral Academy volleyball; Sydney Guerrier, St. Thomas Aquinas volleyball; Ruth Martinez, Divine Savior volleyball; Rafael Salvatierra, Palmer Trinity football; Isabaella Collado, Pine Crest volleyball; Juliana Lugo, Archbishop McCarthy volleyball; Armando Cruz, Belen Jesuit cross-country; and Trevor Tingle, Palmetto golf.
