Columbus won the team title, while Cole Durham of Ransom Everglades took medalist honors at the Archbishop McCarthy Maverick Boys’ Golf Invitational at Eagle Trace Golf Club in Coral Springs.

The 17-team field is one of the largest regular-season events in the state, featuring top programs from classes 1A, 2A and 3A in South Florida. They battled tropical-like rain, gusty winds and wet course conditions.

The Explorers scored 306 (18-over par), followed by Florida Christian at 309 and North Broward Prep at 312. Ransom Everglades was one shot back of third at 313, tied with Pine Crest.

It marked Durham’s second tournament win of the season. He joined Jake Beber-Frankel (2019 grad) as the only Ransom Everglades player to earn medalist honors in the event’s history.
