This week, we continue a feature where we ask you to vote for the best high school varsity performer of the week (in Broward and Miami-Dade counties).

This week includes nominees from high school bowling, cross-country, golf, volleyball, and swimming.

Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Oct. 9 at around 10 p.m. You may vote as often as you like until then.

Christian Cancio, Coral Park bowling: the senior had a high game 257 and a high series 673 in a win over JC Bermudez.

Claire Chanon, Cardinal GIbbons cross-country: the sophomore was fourth of 278 runners in 19:35.5 in the 1A-2A girls’ race to lead the Chiefs to the team title of 14 teams in Class 2A at the Spanish River Cross-Country Invitational in Boca Raton.

Jacob Ellis, Coral Gables swimming: the sophomore won the 200 IM and 100 back events in team wins over Carol City and Hialeah Gardens.

Wills Gillis, North Broward Prep cross-country: the senior was second of 362 runners in the boys’ 1A-2A race in 16:22.2 to lead the Eagles to second of 22 teams in Class 2A at the Spanish River Cross-Country Invitational in Boca Raton.

Matthew Gonzalez, Belen Jesuit golf: the junior shot two rounds in the 70s at the South Florida PGA West Coast High School Championship at TwinEagles Club in Naples and a round in the 70s at the South Florida PGA East Coast High School Championship in Stuart.

Daniela Hernandez, Carrollton cross-country: the junior finished first of 278 runners in the girls’ 1A-2A race at the Spanish River Cross-Country Invitational in Boca Raton. Her winning 3.1-mile time was 18:42, leading the Cyclones to second of 14 teams in 2A. This marks the second time she’s won this race.

Adrian Iziliaev, Gulliver Prep cross-country: the junior was fourth of 362 runners in 16:32 in the boys’ 1A-2A race to lead the Raiders to the Class 2A team title of 22 teams at the Spanish River Cross-Country Invitational in Boca Raton.

Axel Monssoh, Ransom Everglades golf: the 8th grader won the Wolverine Classic at Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Miami. He shot 5-under par 66 to lead the Raiders to the team title.

Noelle Richardson, Westminster Academy cross-country: the junior was fifth of 278 runners in the 1A-2A girls’ race in 19:43.8 to lead the Lions to the team title of 15 teams in Class 1A at the Spanish River Cross-Country Invitational in Boca Raton.

Destiny Wiggins, North Broward Prep volleyball: the senior libreo set school records for career aces and digs. In a 3-set win over Calvary Christian, she had 18 digs, 14 serve receive, 7 assists and 2 aces. In a 5-set win over Pine Crest, she had 29 serve receive, 25 digs, 4 assists and 1 ace.
