Poll: Vote for the Miami Herald High School Athlete of the Week (5)

This week, we continue a feature where we ask you to vote for the best high school varsity performer of the week (in Broward and Miami-Dade counties).

This week includes nominees from high school bowling, cross-country, golf, volleyball and swimming.

Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Oct. 2 at around 10 p.m. You may vote as often as you like until then.

Camila Busque, Riviera Prep volleyball: the senior libero (defensive specialist) for the 12-5 Bulldogs was named MaxPreps Match MVP in a thrilling 5-set win over Coral Reef. She had 5 aces, 13 digs and 11 receptions in the 5-set win.

Remy Dou, Ferguson bowling: the senior had a high game 278 and a high series 758 (averaging a 253) to lead the unbeaten Falcons over TERRA.

Diego Eseverri, Columbus cross-country: the senior ran 15:30.6 to win the boys’ 3A-4A race of 389 runners at the Spanish River Invitational in Boca Raton.

Paige Hill, Western volleyball: the senior outside hitter totaled 44 kills, 11 aces, 9 blocks, and 61 digs combined against Coral Springs Charter, Miami Country Day and Cypress Bay.

Oscar Kramer, Coral Gables swimming: he won the 200 free and 500 free. races to help lead the Cavaliers over Hialeah High.

Nicole Lewis, Doral Academy cross-country: the sophomore won the girls’ 3A-4A race at the Spanish River Invitational in Boca Raton. She finished first of 269 runners in a personal best 18 minutes 44 seconds.

Ruth Martinez, Divine Savior volleyball: the senior 75 kills, 33 digs, 5 aces, 4 blocks to help lead the unbeaten Sharks to championship of the South Florida High School Showdown hosted by Tribe Volleyball in Pompano Beach.

Hugo Stenstrom, Ransom Everglades golf: the senior placed fourth with a 2-under par 70 at the Cardinal Newman Invitational in Tequesta, including calmly holing a clutch 3-foot putt on the final green to chlinch the team championship by one stroke. .

Carly Tabony, American Heritage volleyball: the sophomore had 12 digs and 27 receptions in a 4-set win over Cooper City; had 34 receptions, 17 digs, 13 service points, and 3 aces in a 4-set win over ATM; had 26 digs, 22 receptions, 8 service points, 1 ace and 2 assists in a 5-set win over Mater Academy.

Skye Williams, Florida Christian School volleyball: the senior had 43 kills, 14 digs and 4 aces to help the Patriots earn a silver medal at the Lake Howell Varsity Invitational in Winter Park.
