Miami Belen Jesuit boys’ basketball player Orlando Roche is the Miami Herald’s High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

The sophomore had 27 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals in a 78-50 win over Miami Southridge and 12 points, 2 assists and 3 rebounds in a 61-40 loss to Miami High.

Mikayla Brown, Miami Gulliver Prep basketball; Gianna Gray, Miami Lourdes soccer; Makayla Midgett, Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons basketball; Allison Aleman, Plantation American Heritage soccer; Boosie Swan, Miami True North basketball; Raul Leyva, Davie NSU University soccer; and Drake Sandi, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas basketball rounded out the participants in this week’s poll.
