South Florida’s top athletes were recognized recently in the sports of basketball and soccer.

This week, we continue a feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week from basketball and soccer in Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Jonathan Joseph, North Miami basketball: the senior scored 17 points with 12 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in an overtime win over Coconut Creek and poured in 11 points with 14 rebounds and 2 assists in a win over Georgia West Hall as the Pioneers went 2-0 at the Sunshine State Basketball Explosion at Coconut Creek High School.

Santiago Henriquez, Miami Palmetto basketball: the senior led the Panthers to a runner-up finish at the Junior Orange Basketball Classic at Miami Westminster Christian. He had 24 points with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block in the finals in a loss to No. 18 nationally-ranked Roman Catholic High School from Philadelphia. In a semifinal win over two-time tournament champ Maryland Mount St. Joseph, he scored 25 points with 8 assists, 2 rebounds and 4 steals. In an opening win over defending 6A state champ Pembroke Pines Charter, he totaled 26 points with 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Lenonx Munoz, Miami Beach soccer: the senior goalkeeper allowed one goal in three games with two shutouts at the Tampa Bay Invitational as the Hi-Tides were finalists. Miami Beach defeated New Port Richey River Ridge 4-1. Then the Hi-Tides edged Tampa Steinbrenner 0-0 (5-4 on PKs) in the semifinals and lost to Gulf Breeze 0-0 (3-1 on PKs) in the finals.

Victoria Valle, Miami Doral Academy basketball: the sophomore scored 19 points in a win over Georgia Woodward Academy, 23 points in a loss to Ohio Sprinboro and 15 points in a loss to Ohio Magnificat during the Junior Orange Basketball Classic at Miami Westminster Christian.

Nash Youte, Coconut Creek basketball: the sophomore scored 13 points (3-7 3-pointers) with 2 rebounds in an overtime loss to North Miami and poured in 20 points (4-7 3-pointers) with 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist in a loss to Miami Braddock at the Sunshine State Basketball Explosion at Coconut Creek High School.
