Poll: Who should be the Miami Herald’s high school football Player of the Week? (Dec. 1)

The regional finals of the high school football playoffs saw more incredible performances from South Florida’s best.

This week, we continue a feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Miami-Dade and Broward high school football.

Below is a look at the candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Dec. 5, around 10 p.m.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:

James Perrone, Southridge: Perrone threw for 354 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Spartans to a 51-21 win over West Broward in the Region 4-6A final and secure their first state semifinals appearance since 2016.

Malachi Toney, American Heritage: Toney threw three touchdown passes, ran for another and amassed over 250 combined rushing and passing yards to lead the Patriots to a 35-14 win over Miami Norland in the Region 4-4A final. It is Heritage’s third consecutive trip to at least the state semifinals.

Andrew Indorf, St. Thomas Aquinas: Indorf completed 20 of 25 passes for 270 yards and threw two key touchdown passes to engineer the Raiders’ comeback from 21 points behind in a 49-42 victory over Delray Beach Atlantic in the Region 4-5A final.

Tromon Isaac, Western: Despite losing to Columbus, Isaac continued his impressive freshman season, catching 12 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown to lead the Wildcats in the Region 4-7A final.

Ben Hanks Jr., Booker T. Washington: Hanks Jr. broke the Miami-Dade County single-season interceptions record, by picking off a pass for the 13th time this season in the Tornadoes’ 41-6 win over Miami La Salle in the Region 4-2A final.
