Miami Gulliver Prep swimmer Gio Musiello is the Miami Herald’s High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

At the FHSAA Class 2A Girls’ Swimming State Championships in Ocala, the senior won the 200 individual medley (2:04.20), helped the 200 medley place second (1:48.65) and 400 free relay take third (3:37.01) for the third place Raiders.

Finn Ailiff, Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons soccer; Jia Amores, Miami Mater Lakes Academy swimming; Dariana Breto, Miami SLAM Academy golf; Alexandra Gonzalez Casar, Miami LaSalle basketball; Alfredo Dominguez, Miami Mater Lakes Academy swimming; Jadore Hayes, North Miami basketball; Marcelo Mantecon, Miami Belen Jesuit cross-country; Sohan Patel, Plantation American Heritage golf; Maick Simon, Homestead soccer; and Jorge Gonzalez-Tello, Miami Columbus soccer rounded out the participants in this week’s poll.

The Miami Herald Football and Athlete of the Week polls open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
