Poll: Who should be the Miami Herald’s high school football Player of the Week? (Nov. 18)

The first week of the high school football playoffs featured clutch performances from South Florida’s best.

This week, we continue a feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Miami-Dade and Broward high school football.

Below is a look at the candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Nov. 21, around 10 p.m.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:

▪ Dante Alexander, Monsignor Pace: Alexander returned a fumble 82 yards for a touchdown and intercepted another pass to help the Spartans beat Ransom Everglades 40-10 in a Region 4-2A quarterfinal.

▪ Tromon Isaac Jr., Western: Isaac Jr. caught two touchdown passes to help the Wildcats come back to beat Palmetto 26-10 in a Region 4-7A quarterfinal.

▪ Jayden Miller, NSU University School: Miller completed 20 of his 26 passes for 329 yards with five touchdowns in the Sharks’ 49-42 loss to Master’s Academy in the Sunshine State Athletic Conference state championship game.

▪ Dorian Mallary, La Salle: Mallary ran for three touchdowns and over 150 yards and threw for another touchdown to lead the Royal Lions to a 27-21 win over Gulliver Prep in a Region 4-2A quarterfinal.

▪ Tedarius Hughes, South Dade: Hughes caught five passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns and had four tackles including one for loss on defense in the Bucs’ 48-13 win over Lantana Santaluces in a Region 4-7A quarterfinal.
