Results are in. Ferguson’s Elias Romero voted High School Football Player of the Week

Miami Ferguson running back Elias Romero is the Miami Herald’s High School Football Player of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Romero ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Falcons to a 37-14 comeback win over Hialeah Gardens in a GMAC independent conference semifinal.

Miami St. Brendan’s Charlie Becker, Miami Southridge’s Kamron Wilson, Davie Western’s Jonathan Bueno, Coconut Creek Monarch’s Samari Reed and Fort Lauderdale Archbishop McCarthy’s Malik Denson rounded out this week’s participants.

The Miami Herald Football and Athlete of the Week polls open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
