Miami Lourdes Academy volleyball standout Jenna Acosta is the Miami Herald’s High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Acosta totaled 36 assists and 11 aces in wins over TERRA and Norland as the Bobcats won the district tournament. She then had 18 assists and four aces in a region quarterfinal win over TERRA.
Miami Gulliver Prep volleyball’s Kate Welty, Miami Columbus cross-country runner Alexander Lopez, Pembroke Pines Charter cross-country runner Alejandro De Bastos, Hollywood South Broward boys’ swimmer Tajhari Williams, Coral Springs Coral Glades girls’ golfer Bianca Gibbs, Miami Ransom Everglades boys’ golfer Axel Monssoh, Fort Lauderdale Dillard girls’ cross-country runner Shynah Collins, Southwest Ranches Archbishop McCarthy boys’ golfer Gavin Duffy, Davie Western girls’ swimmer Maryella Baker and Davie Western boys’ golfer John Buono rounded out the participants in this week’s poll.
