Miami Belen Jesuit cross-country runner Armando Cruz is the Miami Herald’s High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Cruz, a sophomore was second of 348 runners in 15:36 at the Spanish River Invitational. With their top 3 runners not competing, Cruz stepped up to lead the Wolverines to the team title in the boys’ 3A-4A division..
Coral Gables cross-country runner Jason Norona, Miami Gulliver Prep bowler Riley Prescott, Miami Carrollton cross-country runner Grace Aldrich, Miami Belen golfer Lorenzo Rodriguez, Fort Lauderdale Dillard cross-country runner Shynah Collins, Reagan Doral volleyball player Samira Persad, Miami Palmer Trinity golfer Remi Bacardi, Fort Lauderdale Westminster Academy cross-country runner Jonathan Pena, Miami Krop bowler Joselyn Reyes-Clark and Doral Divine Savior volleyball Sasha Kawas rounded out the participants in this week’s poll.
