Poll: Who should be the Miami Herald’s high school football Player of the Week? (Sept. 30)
Week 6 of the high school football season saw more outstanding efforts by some of South Florida’s best.
This week, we continue a feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Miami-Dade and Broward high school football.
Below is a look at the candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Oct. 3, around 10 p.m.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:
▪ Isaiah Roque, Miami Coral Reef: Roque, a junior quarterback, had six rushing touchdowns, threw for another and ran for a 2-point conversion in wins over Reagan and Varela.
▪ Dia Bell, Plantation American Heritage: Bell passed for 310 yards and four touchdowns on 18 of 22 passing in just two and a half quarters of action in a 35-0 win over Plantation.
▪ Yohan-Li Louis, Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian: A week after he had 215 yards on 30 carries and four touchdowns in a 48-36 victory over North Miami, Louis had 25 carries for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Cardinal Gibbons. He has 13 touchdowns on the season.
▪ Jayden Torres, Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons: Torres threw for 374 passing yards and three touchdowns in a 36-35 win over Calvary Christian.
▪ Ennio Yapoor, Miami Norland: Yapoor threw for 358 yards and four touchdown passes and ran for a two-point conversion as the Vikings snapped Archbishop McCarthy’s 14-game winning streak with a 49-16 win.
▪ Mykel Nichols, Miami Beach: Nichols had 10 tackles and scored two touchdowns on offense to lead the Hi-Tides to a 44-41 win over Pembroke Pines Flanagan.
▪ Isaiah Suarez, Archbishop Carroll: Suarez led the Bulldogs defense with 10 tackles and a forced fumble as they beat True North to put themselves in position to clinch a district title.
