The Reagan girls’ volleyball team improved to 6-0 with a 3-set victory over host Krop 25-16, 25-22, 25-15.
Samira Persad led the Bison with 23 kills and 17 digs. Jennifer Buaiz recorded 17 assists, 4 kills and 20 digs, and Natalia Bolanos added 7 kills and 19 digs. Nicole Clemente also did well with 15 assists, 10 digs and 3 aces.
Krop is 1-2.
Coral Gables is now 6-0, too, after beating visiting Braddock 25-16, 25-9, 25-16.
Bianca Benson, Isabella Cruz, Corina McDanal and Natasha Macua lead the Cavaliers, which travel to Reagan on Friday.
Braddock is 2-5.
After dropping the first set, Western won the next three to remain unbeaten with a 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-21 victory over host Pembroke Pines Charter.
Sarah Ojeda keys the Wildcats defense, while Sanai Mitchell and Mia Rees are solid up front. Audrey Wade does a good job serving and setting the offense.
Western is 8-0 and Pembroke Pines Charter 2-4.
Mourning is also undefeated, winning its eighth straight with a 3-set win over TERRA.

BASKETBALL
The 2024 Junior Orange Bowl Basketball Classic, featuring eight boys’ teams and eight girls’ teams is Dec. 27, 28 and 30 at Westminster Christian School, 6855 SW 152nd St, Palmetto Bay.
Eight games begin at 10 a.m. on Dec. 27. Championship games are 7:30 p.m. (girls) and 9 p.m. (boys) on Dec. 30.
This is the 32nd edition of this annual event, which has welcomed teams from 21 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Puerto Rico and Slovenia.
This year’s field includes five newcomers as well as four prior Junior Orange Bowl Basketball Classic champions.
The boys’ division consists of Mater Lakes Academy, Norland, Palmetto, Mount Saint Joseph (Maryland), Pembroke Pines Charter, Roman Catholic (Pennsylvania), Westminster Christian, Woodward Academy (Georgia).
The girls’ division consists of Bradley Central (Tennessee), Doral Academy, Magnificat (Ohio), Miami Senior, SLAM Academy, Southridge, Springboro (Ohio), Woodward Academy (Georgia).
