After dropping its first two games (to Boyd Anderson and Riviera Prep), the True North boys’ basketball team bounced back to defeat two top ranked teams (Divine Savior and Gulliver Prep).
The Titans’ strength of schedule is one of the toughest in the county and will be tested again on Friday versus TERRA.
Pembroke Pines Charter boys’ hoops won a close one against St. Thomas Aquinas in overtime, and Belen Jesuit edged Archbishop McCarthy.
Also, St. Brendan boys’ basketball won two tournament games, and on the girls’ side, undefeated Cardinal Gibbons did the same.

Soccer
After starting the season with two draws, the True North girls’ soccer team shut out Carrollton (4-0), Keys Gate (8-0) and Westminster Christian (6-0).
Gulliver Prep boys won again, now 8-0 with 22 goals scored and only 1 allowed. The Raiders are ranked No.3 in the nation, according to MaxPreps.
Also of note, Raul Leyva had six goals and two assists in a win for NSU University School, and back to the girls, Maria Rojas scored four goals in a victory for 6-1 Coral Springs Charter.
Lourdes (8-1) celebrated Senior Night with another win. The Bobcats honored No.3 Tessa Abreu (2x Miami Herald All-Dade 1st Team), No.8 Alexandra Diaz (Miami Herald All Dade 2nd Team), No.17 Ashley Pennie (committed to play at the University of North Carolina), Goalkeeper Nicole Wendelken, and No.11 Eva Cova.
