Poll: Which Broward high school athlete should be the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week? (Oct. 22)

Broward County’s best impressed once again last week as the fall sports playoffs began.

This week, we resume a weekly feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Broward County high school sports.

Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Oct. 26, around 10 p.m.

You may vote as often as you like until then.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:

Jayden Gonzalez, Pembroke Pines Charter, football: Gonzalez completed 27 of 34 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Jaguars to a win over Davie Nova.

Jeffrey Belizaire, Coral Springs, boys’ cross-country: Belizaire ran a time of 16:17.75 to become the first Colts runner in over 30 years to win the BCAA championship.

Christiana Coleman, Dillard, girls’ cross-country: Coleman ran a time of 18:44.55 to secure the BCAA championship at Markham Park and lead the Panthers to a team title.

Sophia Ehret, Cardinal Gibbons, girls’ golf: Ehret shot a 1-over 37 to lead the Chiefst to a win over St. Thomas Aquinas.
