The Gulliver Prep girls’ volleyball team went 5-1 to finish third at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Wesley Chapel.

The Raiders (7-1) beat Deland, Merritt Island, Richmond Hill (Georgia), and Winter Haven, before losing in the semifinal to Olympia (Boca Raton).

Gulliver Prep bounced back with a come-from-behind victory over Lourdes in their final match of the 2-day event to clinch third place.

In a battle of two solid volleyball programs, Westminster Christian edged Doral Academy in five sets with the final set 16-14. Also, Reagan volleyball improved to 5-1, and True North is 4-0.

Alexander Weinberg of Pine Crest shot 5-under par 67 to win the Palm League Boys’ Golf Championship at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne. He helped the Panthers to a runner-up finish of 10 South Florida teams.
