Results are in. Ransom Everglades quarterback voted Dade High School Athlete of the Week

Miami Ransom Everglades football standout Neimann Lawrence is the Miami-Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Lawrence, a senior quarterback, led the Raiders to a 48-0 victory over Pembroke Pines Somerset Academy last week by throwing six touchdown passes and completing 17 of 19 passes for 315 yards.

Lawrence was set to follow up his performance Friday when Ransom traveled north to play Coral Springs Charter.

Miami Palmer Trinity boys’ cross-country runner, Miami Westminster Christian running back Jarvis Johnson, Reagan Doral girls’ volleyball standout Samira Persad and Key Biscayne MAST Academy girls’ swimmer Nicole Macedo rounded out this week’s participants.

The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — now one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
