Lourdes Academy’s girls and Mater Lakes’ boys cruised to championships of the Conquistador Cross-Country Invitational at Larry and Penny Thompson Park in Miami.
Palmer Trinity’s Henry Stark won the boys’ individual title in 16 minutes and 15.76 seconds. On the girls’ side, the Falcons also had a winner in Daniella Perez-Cartaya, who ran 20:56.

The Belen Jesuit boys’ cross-country team recorded a perfect score (15 points) at its first meet of the season, The Kowboy Invitational at Osceola High School in Kissimmee.
The field consisted of 18 teams, including several teams from outside Florida.
Leading the way for Belen was senior Joshua Ruiz with a 5K time of 15 minutes and 16 seconds, finishing first overall, while setting a course and meet record.
Freshman Marcelo Mantecon and junior Joseph Socarras were second and third, respectively, in 15:30 and 15:40. The Wolverines recently ranked fourth in the country by Tullyrunners and third by Runners Central rankings. Up next for Belen is the Horse Park Invitational on Saturday in Ocala.

Jesse Hellring of Ransom Everglades won the Westminster Christian Boys’ Golf Invitational at Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables. He shot 1-over 72 to edge John Battaglino of Somerset Academy and Lorenzo Rodriguez of Belen Jesuit by one stroke.

Thomas Kirby of the (Plantation) American Heritage boys’ golf team was runner-up at the American Heritage Invitational at Lago Mar in Fort Lauderdale.
Kirby scored 2-under par 70 from the black tees on 7,036-yard course, two shots behind champion Pavel Tsar of team champion (North Palm Beach) Benjamin. Sohan Patel of team runner-up American Heritage placed third at 71, followed by Hubert Ramirez (Columbus) and Cruz Allegianis (North Broward Prep) at 72.
