Coral Reef and Somerset Silver Palms excel in softball. Plus All American wrestlers and more

The Coral Reef girls’ softball team won the Gold Bracket Championship of the Kissimmee Klassic. The Barracudas recorded three shutouts during the two-day event.

Coral Reef defeated Rockledge 9-2 in the finals. Prior, they beat Matanzas-Palm Coast 5-0, Ketchikan-Alaska 12-0 and Robinson-Tampa 2-0.

The Somerset Academy Silver Palms girls’ softball team won the Blue Bracket Championship of the Kissimmee Klassic.

In the finals, the Stallions (14-1) defeated Melbourne 14-11.

Wrestling All American Honors

Several wrestlers from Broward and Miami Dade counties earned All American honors during the National High School Coaches Association National Tournament in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

South Dade sophomore EJ Solis won a national title at 138 pounds and Cardinal Gibbons freshman Michael Mocco won a national title at 220 pounds to lead the charge.
