Poll: Which Broward high school athlete should be the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week? (Feb. 12)

Broward County’s top athletes continue to impress as the winter sports playoffs heat up.

This week, we continue a weekly feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Broward County high school sports.

Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Feb. 16, around 10 p.m.

You may vote as often as you like until then.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:

Samir Norman, Hallandale, boys’ basketball: Norman scored 15 points to lead the Chargers to a 46-44 win over Cardinal Gibbons in a district semifinal.

Taylor Williams, Cardinal Gibbons, girls’ basketball: Williams finished with 20 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals as the Chiefs beat Coral Springs Charter to advance to the Region 4-4A semifinals.

Jesus Rodriguez, St. Thomas Aquinas, boys’ soccer: Rodriguez one goal and two assists in a 3-0 win over Varela in a Region 4-6A semifinal.

Chelcy McNally, Fort Lauderdale, girls’ soccer: McNally scored four goals to lead the Flying L’s to an 8-0 win Southwest, which marked their first ever regional playoff victory.

Mackenzie Rector, Cypress Bay, girls’ soccer: Rector scored the game-winning goal in the Lightning’s 1-0 victory over Doral Academy in a Region 4-7A semifinal.
