Poll: Which Broward high school athlete should be the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week? (Jan. 15)

Several of Broward County’s top athletes kept delivering in big games in multiple winter sports this past week.

This week, we continue a weekly feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Broward County high school sports.

Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Jan. 19, around 10 p.m.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:

Danielius Kasparas, Sagemont, boys’ basketball: Kasparas totaled 24 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Highlands Christian as the Lions moved to 16-2 on the season.

Michael Mocco, Cardinal Gibbons, boys’ wrestling: Mocco won by major decision in the 190-pound finals, which clinched third place for the Chiefs in the East Coast Catholic Cup.

Lily O’Neil, Pines Charter, girls’ soccer: O’Neil had 14 saves to lead the Jaguars to a 1-0 win over Fort Lauderdale.

Omarri Wallace, South Plantation, boys’ basketball: Wallace scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Paladins to a win over Dillard that improved their record to 17-2.
