Poll: Which Dade high school athlete should be the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week? (Jan. 8)
Several of Miami-Dade County’s top athletes kept delivering in big games in multiple winter sports during holiday tournaments and classics.
This week, we continue a weekly feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Miami-Dade County high school sports.
Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Jan. 12, around 10 p.m.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:
▪ Cameron Boozer, Columbus, boys’ basketball: Boozer scored a combined 45 points in wins over nationally-ranked Camden (NJ) and Westminster Academy.
▪ Ja’Dore Hayes, North Miami, girls’ basketball: Hayes had 23 points in a 42-38 win over Gulliver Prep in the SUTS Report New Year’s Classic.
▪ Clay Thevenin, TRU Prep Academy, football: Thevenin ran for 60 of his 122 yards on the team’s game-sealing drive to lead the Private School All-Stars to a 22-8 win over the Public School All-Stars in the 13th annual Private vs. Public All-Star Game.
▪ Tommaso Polidori, Miami Beach, boys’ soccer: Polidori had five goals and an assist in two of the Hi-Tides’ victories as they won the Tampa Bay Invitational.
