The top seed Southwest boys’ volleyball team won the District 30 championship, beating second seed Columbus 25-19, 27-25, 25-16.
Marlon Albornoz had 13 kills and 5 digs. Alessandro DeLaO totaled 10 kills and 4 aces, and Erik Pinzon had 25 assists and 6 digs.

South Broward won the District 22 title in a five-set thriller over Chaminade-Madonna, and in District 21, fifth seed St. Thomas Aquinas won the district championship, upsetting top seed Western and third seed Plantation-American Heritage. Western beat the Raiders 3 games to 2 in the regular season.
District 32 Championship: Palmetto d. Ransom Everglades 26-28, 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11: The Panthers (9-9) host Columbus in a region QF on Tuesday.
District 31 Championship: Killian d. TERRA 20-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-15: Enzi Fernandez 15 kills, 4 blocks; Koree Jacquet 13 kills, 12 serve receive; Franco Peralta 13 kills, 5 aces, 16 serve receive; Carlos Gonzalez 14 digs, 20 serve receive; Angel Amengual 47 assists. District 18 Championship: Stoneman Douglas d. Coral Springs 25-14, 25-19, 27-25: The second seed Eagles (6-8) beat the top seed Colts (15-5). They host Delray Beach-American Heritage in a region QF on Tuesday.
Baseball
The Miami Beach baseball team celebrated Senior Day with a 14-0 victory over Hialeah-Miami Lakes.
Seniors Cedrick Jenkins (2 Hits, 2 Runs, 2 RBI), Alan Ochoa (2 Hits, RBI, Run), Lucas Tirado (1 Hit, 2 Runs), Benji Sherwin (2B, Run), Alessandro Villegas (3B, Run), and Jonathan Gaynor (2B, 3 Runs) led the Hi-Tides (11-9).

Softball
The St. Brendan softball team is 15-8 this season, a nice turnaround from last season.
Last year StB lost to Naples 14-1. This year StB won 7-2.
Last year StB lost to West Broward 11-1. This year StB won 10-3.
Last year StB lost to Gulliver Prep 11-1. This year StB won 15-3.
Last year StB lost to Coral Reef 9-3. This year StB won 5-4.
Last year StB lost to Goleman 5-1. This year StB won 16-6.
Last year StB lost to Florida Christian 8-7. This year StB won 5-3.
Last year StB lost to Tampa-Sickles 11-0. This year StB lost 2-1
The Sabres placed second to Tampa-Sickles in a very close battle at the Bill Longshore Tournament in Naples.
Basketball Honors
After being named to the MaxPreps Freshman All-America team, Columbus boys’ basketball player Cameron Boozer was also named All-State first team for Class 7A by the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches (FABC) and Source Hoops.
Boozer, a 6-8 freshman forward, led the Explorers to their first state championship, after averaging 18.9 points, 10.9 rebounds, four assists and 2.2 blocks per game.
Miami Palmetto senior Jimel Lane earned second team honors, while Cypress Bay senior Noah Kattan and Miami High senior Kuran Bryant were named to the third team.
Class 6A
Pembroke Pines Charter had two of its standouts - Geoff Sprouse and Kolby King - named to the All-State first team. King, a St. John’s University signee, averaged 15.3 points per game, and Sprouse averaged 14.3 points per game to lead the Jaguars to the regional finals.
St. Thomas Aquinas senior Andrew Akuchie earned second team honors, and Miami Southridge junior Mister Dean made third team.
