The Cypress Bay wrestling team won the district title for the fifth consecutive season.
The Lightning placed first in District 14-3A at Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines with 10 champions, 1 runner-up, 1 third and 1 fourth. All 13 wrestlers qualified for regionals.

Cardinal Gibbons won the District 14-1A Championship at American Heritage in Delray Beach. The Chiefs boasted seven district champions and three runners-up for their 34th district team title.
All 14 wrestlers qualified for regionals in Jensen Beach. Coral Springs Charter, led by the Mocco brothers (8th grader Michael and 6th grader Peter), had seven reach regionals.

Football Honors
CLASS 5A
Miami Central led all South Florida teams with six first-team selections on the Class 5A All-State team released recently by FloridaHSFootball.com.
Junior quarterback Keyone Jenkins and senior offensive lineman Daughtry Richardson and Elijah Miller made it on offense for the Rockets, who won their third consecutive state title. On defense, Central had senior lineman Ruben Bain, senior linebacker Wesley Bissainthe and senior defensive back Caleb McKenzie.
Miami Killian had three first-team selections — junior wide receiver Robby Washington on offense and senior defensive lineman Justin Wallace along with junior linebacker Stanquan Clark on defense. Plantation American Heritage and Fort Lauderdale Stranahan each had two first-team selections. Senior defensive lineman Richard Thomas and senior defensive back Earl Little Jr. made it for Heritage while senior linebacker Omar Graham Jr. and senior defensive lineman Solomon Dade made it for Stranahan.
