TERRA volleyball player sets school mark. American Heritage golf wins. Plus, swimming and more

Nicole Cosano of TERRA became the first player in her school’s history to record a quintuple-double in girls’ volleyball, a week after being the first to post a quadruple-double.

For the quadruple-double, Cosano, a junior, totaled 10 service points, 12 kills, 11 assists and 10 digs in a victory over Palmetto.

“I honestly had no clue I had that stat line,” Cosano said. “I was so focused on the game and trying to lead my team to victory.”

She wants to shake the notion that TERRA is only a high academic high school.

“We are also athletes who can accomplish things we don’t even know.”

Cosano, 16, is a setter and outside hitter. This marks her third season starting for the Wolves.

She has been playing volleyball six years. She also competes for the 305 Volleyball Club.

She is proving people wrong. In her younger playing days, her elementary school coach and teammates questioned her ability to perform and develop as she was one of the weakest players on her team.

Not anymore.

To follow up her record effort against Palmetto, Cosano posted a quintuple-double with 10 aces, 20 service points, 10 kills, 13 assists and 10 digs in a victory over iMater Academy.
