Colonial Christian softball wins conference final, and Doral Academy takes tournament title

Game MVP Juliette DelValle drove in four runs on three hits to lead Colonial Christian over Horeb Christian 18-8 in the finals of the South Florida Softball Conference Championship.

Annabelle Garcia and Mikayla St. Germain each had a hit and two RBI. Destiny Sanchez singled twice and doubled.

Winning pitcher Emily Friman (8-2) struck out four.

The conference coaches selected Emily Friman as Player of the Year and Coach Lou Martinez as Coach of Year.

Several Patriots were selected to All Conference teams.

Doral softball

The Doral Academy softball team edged Tampa-Robinson 5-4 to win the Bill Longshore Memorial Tournament in Naples.

Alyssa Zabala pitched seven innings, allowing six hits, and Anabela Abdullah had four hits and scored four times, including the winner in sixth. The Firebirds went 4-0 in the tournament.

The champs are: Lauren Ali, Leyani Viruet, Ana Richiez, Kassandra Machado, Meagan Villazon, Meghan Neto, Alyssa Zabala, Mikaela Roig, Lauren Breaux, Anabela Abduallah, Arianna Machado, Amanda Ramirez, Isabella Melley, Sarah Breaux.
