The Private and Public schools All-Star game will pit the best of the best Saturday

The 11th Annual Tru Sports Foundation Private/Public All Star game, which has established a tradition of exciting plays and dramatic finishes in the short history of the game, is set once again.

The contest, pitting the best private school seniors from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties against the public school all stars, will kick off Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Milander Stadium in Hialeah. All tickets are $10.

Last year’s game was another tight finish as the public stars scored late to knock off the private team 27-20 and take a 6-4 lead in the series.

The public team, which will be coached by South Broward head coach Anthony Collins, will be led by Miami Central quarterback Katravis Marsh who led the Rockets to the Class 6A state title.

Champagnat defensive coordinator David Simmons will head up the private squad for the second year in a row and will have many of his Class 2A state champion Lions on the roster including James Herard, Curmari Dopson and Jonathan Nesbit.
