Here’s how to donate to help Deerfield Beach’s Bryce Gowdy’s family with funeral costs

A GoFundMe account to help Bryce Gowdy’s family with funeral costs was set up and it’s exceeded the initial goal of raising $25,000 as of Tuesday morning.

Gowdy, 17, was scheduled to enroll at Georgia Tech next week after signing to play college football with the Yellow Jackets less than two weeks ago.

On Monday, the Deerfield Beach senior wide receiver passed away.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release that Gowdy was struck by a train and later died after being trauma alerted to Broward Health North.

Gowdy’s death saw an outpouring of tributes on social media ranging from Miami coach Manny Diaz to Georgia Tech coach Geoff Collins and Gowdy’s teammates and coaches at Deerfield Beach High.
