Coral Springs, Deerfield Beach win Kreul Classic titles

The Coral Springs and Deerfield Beach boys’ basketball teams each won bracket championships of the Kreul Classic this week.

Coral Springs upended previously unbeaten Plantation American Heritage 62-59 to win the Publix Challenge. Wilvens Fleurizard led the Colts (10-3) with 21 points and Alex London had 14.

Deerfield Beach knocked off McArthur 57-45 to win the BCAA Challenge championship. The Bucks (7-3) were led by Faizon Francis and Victor Robinson who each had 10 points.

▪ Archimedean 8, Westwood Christian 0: Emely Acobo had three goals and two assists, Isabella Garcia addded a goal and two assists and Gabriela Maldonado scored twice as Archimedian improved to 11-1-0.

▪ Coral Gables 8, South Miami 0: Hannah Evans scored three goals, Jade Mallea added two goals and an assist and Juliana Bonavita recorded the shutout as Coral Gables improved to 12-2.
