TEAM OF THE WEEK

Destiny Frazier scored a game-high 23 points and Courtney Parson added 13 points, 9 rebounds, four assists and six steals to lead the Class 5A state champion Dillard girls basketball team (31-2, No. 3 USA Today Super 25) past South Shore (NY) 65-44 in the Dick's Sporting Goods High School National Tournament semifinals.

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Nicole Lennie, Everglades, flag football: Lenni threw two touchdown passes to lead the Gators (7-1) over Western 13-7.

Javon Heastie and LaQuincy Rideau, Blanche Ely, boys basketball: Heastie had 16 points and Rideau added 15 points as the Class 7A state champion Tigers (28-1) suffered its first defeat against Findlay Prep (NV) 63-50 in the Dick’s Sporting Goods High School Nationals semfinals.

Damion Thomas Jr., Northeast, boys' track: The sophomore star won the Florida Relays 110 hurdles title in a personal-best and U.S. No. 2 13.64 for a national record in the 15 year old group.

Jack Khawly, Somerset, baseball: Khawly hit a grand slam to lead Somerset over Cooper City 13-8.

Javon Patterson, Boyd Anderson, boys' track: Patterson won the 800 and led the Cobras' 3,200 relay to victory at the Florida Relays.

Jake Anchia, Archbishop McCarthy, baseball: Anchia went 2 for 4 with two home runs and 7 RBI to lead the Mavericks over Pompano Beach 13-7.

Taylor Estape, Pine Crest, softball: Estape scattered three hits to earn the victory and went 2 for 4 with a RBI to lead the Panthers over Oxbridge 2-1.

Angela Vaca, Pines Charter, girls’ tennis: Vaca won at No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles to lead the Jaguars to the District 15-3A title.

Danny Rafael, Cooper City, boys’ water polo: Rafael had six goals to lead the Cowboys (7-4) over Flanagan 13-10.

Louie Yovino, St. Thomas Aquinas, boys’ lacrosse: Yovino scored six goals to lead the Raiders (15-0) over Jupiter 12-10 to become the third team to finish the regular season undefeated.
