Late field goal lifts Champagnat over Community School of Naples

In a region 4-2A semifinal at Milander park, Champagnat converted a field goal as time expired to earn a 34-31 victory over Community School of Naples (9-3).

Led by freshman Calvin Montgomery and his three rushing touchdowns, the Lions improved to 9-1.

"Great team win. We put it on the ground and then they gave me a chance to win. I'm just grateful," said Darren Jones, who delivered the winning kick.

Champagnat will go on to face First Baptist Academy in the regional finals.
