Premier Boxing Champions, the formidably-growing stable of fighters that has spread its might thanks to television fight deals with multiple TV networks, will have two shows scheduled for South Florida in November.
Cuba native Erislandy Lara will headline a card Nov. 25 at Hialeah Park and Casino. Lara, who currently holds a second-tier 154-pound world title, will face former welterweight champion Jan Zaveck of Slovenia. The Lara-Zaveck fight will be televised by ESPN.
A former Miami resident, Lara (21-2-2, 12 KOs) will make only the third local appearance of his career in the Hialeah show. The 39-year-old Zaveck (35-3, 19 KOs) had a two-year run as welterweight champion that ended in 2011.
On Nov. 7, PBC fighters will headline the first nationally televised show at Miccosukee Resort and Gaming in five years. Welterweight contenders Fredrick Lawson (24-0, 20 KOs) of Ghana and Canada’s Kevin Bizier (24-2, 16 KOs) will fight in a title eliminator. NBC Sports Network will broadcast the Lawson-Bizier bout.
