South Florida wrestling groups making Vegas debuts with Matt Riddle during WrestleMania Week
What WWE created with the development and growth of WrestleMania is astonishing.
The Super Bowl of pro wrestling/sports entertainment is comparable to the NFL Super Bowl and soccer’s World Cup as a mega-event, generating quite the economic boost for the host cities.
Bringing tens of thousands of people from around the world together for a week of events and shows is amazing.
WrestleMania Week also provides other pro wrestlers, not working for the company, to participate in other non-related WWE events and shows, piggy-backing off WWE’s extravaganza in that year’s particular market.
Matt Riddle, who competed in two WrestleManias, is one of many outstanding talents heading to Las Vegas during WrestleMania Week in April to headline two shows from two top indie promotions from South Florida, both companies making their Sin City debuts.
Boca Raton Championship Wrestling, based in Boca Raton, and Coastal Championship Wrestling, based in Pompano Beach, are conducting back-to-back shows on Wednesday, April 15 from the FSW Arena, 6035 Harrison Drive, Suite 5, Las Vegas, 89120.
BRCW and CCW have a solid working relationship. Their shows are top-notch and fan friendly.
BRCW, which formed in 2022 is under the direction of Matthew Maschler and Neil Glazier, two huge pro wrestling fans and businessmen who feature former WWE NXT and current TNA Wrestling stars on their shows. Mostly running shows in Boca Raton, they do branch out occasionally, like on April 15 from Vegas.
CCW is the longest running indie promotion in Florida, recently celebrating its 22nd anniversary, and is one of the longest running in North America.
The company -- with CCW Executive Director/Owner Nelio Cuomo Costa at the helm and CCW OG Dan Evans -- has grown into producing more than 100 shows a year throughout Florida and in Nashville, Tennessee.
CCW also has a training center under the direction of WWE alum Gangrel in Pompano Beach, which has produced quite the array of talent (commentators, crew, referees, ring announcers, wrestlers) from established indie stars to big company signees.
Costa and his CCW crew, along with BRCW creative (which includes former WWE writer/producer Robert Karpeles), run the BRCW shows behind the scenes on game day.
Here is my video interview with the talented Matt Riddle about BRCW and CCW in Las Vegas, his WrestleMania past and more.
During WrestleMania Week, BRCW will also have a table at the WrestleCon meet-n-greet from Thursday-Sunday, April 16-19 at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas. Riddle, AEW alum Cezar Bononi and Reality TV star Mark Long and others will be at the BRCW table periodically. BRCW will also be part of the WrestleLit Party on Thursday, April 16.
