In the main event of “Bellator: Unfinished Business,” South Florida’s Kimbo Slice beat MMA legend Ken Shamrock on Friday, June 19 on Spike TV from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
Slice, who is from Miami and currently lives in (South Florida) Coral Springs, somehow survived a deep rear-naked choke. Appearing almost out, Slice somehow regrouped.
Slice said prior he would not tap, and he didn’t. He maneuvered from the finisher as well as a subsequent body scissors. Both fighters then stood, and Slice delivered two crushing right-hand shots flush to the face, dropping Shamrock and ending the fight via TKO.
With Shamrock down hard and dazed from the big blows, and Slice ready to inflict more damage, referee John McCarthy stopped it at 2:22 of the first round. Both played to their strengths with Slice emerging the victor.
