World Cup tickets go on sale next week. Here’s how, where to get them
Tickets for the 2026 World Cup go on sale next week in a multiphase, multitiered system with prices ranging from $60 for the cheapest group stage tickets to $6,730 for the most expensive seats for the final.
Those prices will fluctuate based on demand and fans will be able to purchase single-game tickets, venue-specific tickets and team-specific packages.
Forty-eight teams, the largest field in tournament history, will vie for the coveted trophy across the United States, Mexico and Canada. The opening game is June 11 in Mexico City, the championship match is July 19 in New York/New Jersey, and in between, 102 games will be held in 16 host cities, including Miami.
Hard Rock Stadium will host seven games — four in the group stage (June 15, 21, 24, 27), one Round of 32 game (July 3), a quarterfinal (July 11), and the bronze medal third-place game (July 28).
Here is everything you need to know about how to get World Cup tickets:
When do World Cup tickets go on sale?
Visa cardholders can take advantage of an exclusive Presale Draw between Sept. 10 and 19, which allows them to apply for a chance to purchase tickets in the first phase of ticket sales. The Presale period will open at 11 am ET on Sept. 10 and close at 11 a.m. on Sep. 19.
To get started, Visa cardholders are encouraged to visit FIFA.com/tickets to register their interest and create a FIFA ID.
To participate in the Visa Presale Draw, Visa cardholders must log into their FIFA.com/tickets account using their FIFA ID and complete the application form at any time during the ten-day application period for their chance to purchase tickets.
Timing of a fan’s entry into the Visa Presale Draw during the entry period will not impact the fan’s chances of success. After a random selection process, successful applicants will be notified via e-mail Sept. 29 and will be given a date and time slot to purchase tickets (subject to availability), with time slots starting from Oct. 1.
A successful draw application does not guarantee that tickets will be available for purchase during the time slot. When ticket sales start, single match tickets to all 104 matches will be made available. Additionally, venue-specific tickets and team-specific tickets will also be made available.
How much do World Cup tickets cost?
At the start of the Visa presale, group stage tickets will start at $60 and the most expensive ticket will be $6,730 for the final at Met Life Stadium in New York/New Jersey. Those prices will fluctuate based on demand, as the World Cup is using the dynamic/variable pricing system that has become customary for sporting events, concerts and other big events in the United States.
“Get your tickets early, especially if you know where you’ll be because you live in that city or you’re a fan of the three hosting nations and then you know already when and where they’ll play,” FIFA World Cup 26 chief operating officer Heimo Schirgi said on Tuesday during a media briefing. “Get your tickets early, because anything can happen.”
Is there a limit to the number of World Cup tickets I can buy?
Yes. You can purchase up to four tickets for a single match and up to 10 total matches, so no more than 40 total.
Can I buy tickets to follow my favorite national team even if that team has not qualified yet?
Yes. You can purchase a follow-your-team package for group phase and get reimbursed if your team does not qualify.
What if I don’t have a Visa card or don’t get picked in the presale draw?
Don’t worry. Additional ticket sales phases will begin in October 2025, through to the final match.
Phase 2: Early Ticket Draw, with the registration window expected to take place from October 27-31 and time slots for purchase from mid-November to early December. Similar to the first phase, this will consist of an application, followed by a random selection process. Successful applicants will receive a time slot to purchase tickets (subject to availability).
Phase 3: Random Selection Draw, with registration beginning shortly after the World Cup Draw Dec. 5. During this phase, fans will be able to submit applications for specific matches after the final draw has revealed most of the group-stage matchups.
Closer to the tournament, fans will be able to buy any remaining inventory on a first-come, first-served basis.
Supporter tickets (for fans who want to sit with others cheering for the same team) and conditional supporter tickets (for supporters who want to reserve a seat for one of their team’s potential matches in a knockout round) are expected to be available closer to the tournament.
Can I resell World Cup tickets I purchase?
Yes. FIFA will launch a secure, official resale platform for eligible ticket holders at FIFA.com/tickets later this year. This initiative aims to safeguard fans against invalid or unauthorized resale and is available to fans subject to federal and local regulations. Mexican residents will have access to a FIFA Ticket Exchange Platform.
How do I purchase a World Cup hospitality package?
Fans can already purchase hospitality packages, inclusive of match tickets, at FIFA.com/hospitality. FIFA encourages fans to make purchases only through FIFA.com/tickets, the official and preferred source of tickets, as packages and tickets sourced from unofficial sales channels may not be valid.
Does a match ticket guarantee admission to the host country?
No. Fans should visit each of the three host country’s government websites for entry requirements.
How can I apply to be a World Cup volunteer?
An estimated 65,000 volunteers are expected to provide support across 23 functional areas at official and non-official sites such as stadiums, training sites, airports, hotels and more.
“Volunteers are the heart, soul and smile of FIFA tournaments,” said FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
No prior volunteering experience is required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of application and eligible to volunteer in the host country and should have a good command of English. In Mexico, English and Spanish are desirable; in Canada, French is considered an asset. Proficiency in any additional languages is a plus.
Interested individuals can now apply at fifaworldcup.com/volunteers.
Volunteers who are chosen will be invited to attend the Volunteer Team Tryouts, which are expected to begin in October 2025, with training to follow in March 2026.
