Duke snaps Miami’s 12-game win streak

▪ Duke 12, Miami 5: The No. 1 Hurricanes had the nation’s longest winning streak snapped as host Duke took the second game of an Atlantic Coast Conference weekend series.
The Hurricanes (28-5, 12-3) suffered their first loss since a March 20 defeat to Louisville, snapping a 12-game win streak.
Duke (20-16, 7-10) chased Hurricanes starter Michael Mediavilla (6-1) after just 1 2/3 innings. The Blue Devils tagged the left-hander for a career-high eight runs, jumping out to a commanding early lead that they would not relinquish.
▪ Louisiana Tech 6, FIU 1: The visiting Panthers (17-20, 5-9 Conference USA) had no answer for the Bulldogs’ Cameron Linck (2-0), who struck out 10 in 7 1/3 innings. La. Tech improves to 19-12 and 7-7.
▪ Nova Southeastern 10-10, Rollins 5-3: The host Sharks (28-12, 14-4 Sunshine State Conference) got their fourth conference sweep in a row by routing the Tars (21-19, 6-12).
▪ St. Thomas 10-6, Ave Maria 0-9: The host Bobcats (28-15, 12-6 The Sun Conference) split a doubleheader against the Gyrenes (15-31, 3-16). Oscar Aguirre went 3 for 5 with three RBI in Game 1.
Women’s Tennis
▪ Lynn 5, Barry 4: The No. 2-ranked Buccaneers (13-2, 4-2 Sunshine State Conference) dropped a close match at the No. 5 Fighting Knights (18-3, 6-2).
Softball
▪ Florida Southern 3-4, Nova Southeastern 1-2: The host Sharks (11-34, 1-20 SSC) lost two close contests to the Moccasins (14-25-1, 6-11-1 SSC).
▪ St. Thomas 2-3, Warner 0-0: The Bobcats (16-17, 5-3 TSC) swept the host Royals (19-21, 4-8) in a doubleheader. Jessica Castiglione (5-4) pitched a shutout in Game 1.
