Taking a look at the UCF’s #2020KnightVision early signing class.
After winning 25 games in a row, UCF entered the 2019 season looking to continue to ruffle college football’s elite and pound on the door of playoff expansion.
But instead of reeling off another unbeaten regular season to play for the American Athletic Conference title for a third consecutive championship, the Knights endured a three-loss campaign.
Still, those three losses were by a combined seven points.
UCF boasted a good recruiting haul last February, and the Knights aimed to continue that Wednesday, the first of three days for the early signing period.
Entering the day, UCF’s 2020 class ranked 61st in the country and fifth in the AAC.
Here’s a look at who signed with Knights for their #2020KnightVision class:
▪ OL Paul Rublet, Germany: UCF started Wednesday’s early signing period getting a letter of intent from an international player. Rublet originally was heading to Arizona State before a visit last weekend had him flipping to the Knights.
▪ WR Stretch Credle, Carver (Columbus, Georgia): At 6-4, Credle has definitely earned his “Strech” nickname. He picked the Knights over offers from a slew of Power 5 and Group of 5 programs. Even from the likes of Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee.
▪ DB Justin Hodges, Fort Lauderdale Western: The Western High defensive back was originally a Miami commit. But his signing day choice was between UCF and Washington State after backing away from the Canes on Oct. 13. Hodges chose to stay in the Sunshine State.
▪ DB Corey Thornton, Miami Booker T. Washington: Tallied 16 tackles and a sack in eight games, while helping BTW win the 4A state title over Jacksonville Bolles.
▪ DL Kervins Choute, Deerfield Beach: After pledging to the Knights in July, Choute maintained his commitment when he signed with UCF on Wednesday.
▪ DB Davonte Brown, Plantation American Heritage: This was a coup for UCF as the Knights beat out two Power 5 programs, Miami and Pittsburgh, to land Brown. The consensus 3-star cornerback’s father played for the Hurricanes.
▪ DB Quadric Bullard, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna: Ranked the 127th safety in the nation, Bullard previously played at South Broward High before winning a state title with Chaminade-Madonna this season. Bullard stayed loyal to UCF after pledging to the Knights in May.
▪ DL Kendrick Wilson, Miami Norland: Wilson is rated the 65th best defensive end in the country, according to the 247 Sports’ composite rankings.
▪ OL Patrick Barnett, Key West
▪ TE Jordan Davis, Sanford Seminole
▪ RB Johnny Richardson, Lake Wales
▪ LB Keenan Cupit, Jefferson Forest (Virginia)
▪ OL Mike Lofton, Clearwater Calvary Christian
▪ DB Devunte Dawson, L.D. Bell (Hurst, Texas):
▪ TE Tony Forrest Jr., Jacksonville Sandalwood
▪ LB Quade Mosier, Fayetteville (Arkansas)
▪ DL Josh Celiscar, Winter Haven
